I enable and encourage the State, society and doctors to provide real, authentic choices for women faced with unplanned pregnancies. I discourage women from choosing abortion and encourage women to choose life.
I provide for other systems to be put in place to help women in Ireland today. I allow for adoption, for the creation of college creches, for affordable childcare and healthcare. I support flexitime work hours for single mothers and fathers. I advocate for enhanced paternity leave. I promote real solutions that allow for a mother to live her own life, while not being forced to choose to end the life of her child because she sees no other option.
Eliminate the crisis, not the pregnancy.
Ireland can take the lead in being the world’s leading authority on the equal treatment of mother and baby. We can be an international inspiration to so many other countries who have fallen into the disarray that comes with abortion on demand. We must be sure that what we enshrine in our Constitution and put in our legislation is what is best for women in this country. Providing mothers with reliable, practical options is what is best for her and her baby.
Abortion is not the answer, it is not a solution.
In Ireland, because of the 8th Amendment, doctors have developed techniques and treatments to manage difficult pregnancies. Instead of reaching for the easy option as soon as trouble arises, doctors in Ireland have developed a dual patient model of maternal care, which involves novel approaches to the management of sometimes very complicated pregnancies.
